ERASMUS PLUS 2023-1-EL01-KA122-SCH-000144178LEARNING IN NATURE FOR INCLUSION
What We Want to Do Next Following the success of the “Learning in Nature for Inclusion” project, we are committed to continuing and expanding our efforts to promote inclusion through nature-based education. Our next steps include: ________________________________________ 1. Integrate Nature-Based Learning into Our Curriculum •Develop a permanent outdoor learning schedule across all grade levels. •Include nature-related themes and cross-curricular projects in subjects such as science, language, art, and social studies. •Design a year-long nature education plan that supports refugee integration, emotional well-being, and environmental awareness. ________________________________________ 2. Create an "Inclusion Through Nature" School Policy •Formalize the use of outdoor learning spaces as a core strategy for inclusion. •Develop guidelines and a best-practice handbook for teachers. •Establish a working group of staff focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion in nature-based education. ________________________________________ 3. Share Our Experience with Other Schools •Organize local and regional workshops to train other educators in our area. •Present our project outcomes at educational conferences and in local media. •Create an online resource hub with materials, lesson plans, and videos to support schools interested in similar initiatives. ________________________________________ 4. Deepen Our Work with Refugee Students •Offer more targeted support through nature-based mentoring programs and social-emotional learning activities. •Strengthen partnerships with local organizations that support refugees and migrants. •Involve refugee parents more actively in outdoor school events to foster a stronger sense of community. ________________________________________ 5. Apply for a Follow-up Erasmus+ Project •Develop a new Erasmus+ proposal focusing on climate education and inclusion, youth leadership in nature, or community gardening for integration. •Seek partnerships with schools from other countries who share our values and want to co-develop innovative inclusion projects. ________________________________________ 6. Involve the Wider Community •Collaborate with local municipalities, environmental organizations, and NGOs to co-host “Nature for All” events. •Transform a nearby green space or park into a community learning garden for multicultural activities and environmental education. •Invite parents, community leaders, and local citizens to participate in inclusive outdoor activities. ________________________________________ Our vision is to become a model school for inclusion through nature—a place where every child feels they belong, where learning happens beyond walls, and where diversity is celebrated in every season.
